The Bradford Pear
Society
Dedicated to the preservation, celebration, and advocacy of America's most misunderstood tree.
Our Mission
A Tree Worth Fighting For
For decades, the Bradford Pear (Pyrus calleryana 'Bradford') has graced America's streets, parks, and neighborhoods with its breathtaking spring canopy of white blossoms and vibrant autumn foliage. Now, this beloved species faces unprecedented persecution — banned in six states and counting, vilified by misinformed media, and subjected to government-funded bounty programs.
We say: enough. The Bradford Pear Society exists to set the record straight, protect this iconic American tree, and ensure that future generations can experience its singular beauty — and distinctive springtime fragrance.
